Cynthia has combined her interest in the ever evolving new technologies and her passion for politics to create an Internet Radio Talk show that will create a new paradigm in which to inform New Yorkers on what is going on at the State Capital.

Though Cynthia Pooler grew up in Queens and Long Island, she’s spent much of her life in the Capital Region.
She worked as a clerical worker for the state in Saratoga County for many years. Then moved to Albany in 2009, and retired.
“I’ve always had a love of politics,” says Pooler, who runs a political site, focusonalbany.com, where she’s compiled hundreds of interviews with local politicians and movers and shakers. “I’ve always been fascinated with the new technology. So I wanted to blend new technology with politics, and that’s how I came up with Focus on Albany.”
The 67-year-old widow has been doing FOA for two years. “It’s such a creative, wonderful thing and I’m always coming up with new ideas,” she says. “Since I’m retired, this is my passion: politics. I wanted to turn my passion into something productive, where I can interview people and talk about pressing issues of the day. I’m just having a great time.”
You can find Pooler’s interviews at focusonalbany.com, or you can find Pooler herself standing at a busy intersection, waving her “Focus on Albany” sign. “I’m just trying to get my message out. I don’t have the money for a sign on I-90,” she says. We asked Pooler some kooky Proustian questions.
